Application for Lease Renewal and Dorm Room Changes of Dormitory 2 in Academic Year 2025

Announcement

I.      Application Period and Method: Please complete both of the following two stages. Failure to complete by the given deadlines will constitute a waiver of the right to lease renewal.

1.    Stage 1: Please complete an application online from now through April 11, 2025, Please log in using your cloud account (isu student ID@cloud.isu.edu.tw). https://forms.office.com/r/RQtTgWSWKB

2.    Stage 2: Please collect the Lease Contract of Dormitory 2 in Academic Year 2025 between April 16 and 30, 2025, at the Management Office of Dormitory 2, and then submit the Lease Contract to the Management Office of Dormitory 2 before May 30, 2025, after carefully reading and signing it.

II.    Dorm residents who fail to apply for lease renewal by the given deadline should do campus service before being qualified for late application. Applicants who submit their applications within one week of the first-stage deadline are required to complete two hours of campus service. For each additional week of delay, two extra hours of campus service will be added accordingly. However, starting April 30, 2025, as the lot drawing for dorm vacancies for Academic Year 2025 has already been conducted and all remaining beds have been occupied, applications will no longer be accepted.

III.  The lease renewal will be canceled when a dorm resident gets involved in either of the following situations:

1.    If their dorm room has not been inspected or has not met the requirements of the Dormitory Cleanliness Competition in Academic Year 2024 and fails to complete or pass the reinspection, their lease renewal will be canceled.

2.    If they owe electricity charges to Dormitory 2, their lease renewal will be canceled. ( Please visit the Information System for details on electricity bills.)

IV. The lease for Academic Year 2024 expires on July 31, 2025. Dorm residents who do not renew the lease should complete the dormitory check-out process by July 31, 2025. Those who move out from the dormitory before June or fail to complete the process by the end of July will not have their deposit refunded, and those who move out after July will be punished pursuant to the applicable regulations and rules, and the rent incurred by late moving-out will be collected as well.

V.   Dorm residents who have renewed their leases can stay in the dormitory during the summer vacation, and they should safely keep the key to the room. Those who will leave for home for a long time during the summer vacation can apply to the Management Office for a temporary suspension of the collection of electricity charges before they leave; however, they should obtain prior approval from their roommates since the electricity bill will be paid by those staying at the dorm room.

VI. Dorm room changes will be arranged based on the availability of existing beds in Dormitory 2.

1.    Application:

a.    Current Dorm Residents: The application for dorm room changes should be made along with an application for lease renewal for Academic Year 2025. Applicants should move into the new dorm room before August 10, 2025; otherwise, they will be deemed as having given up the new dorm room voluntarily. If they cannot complete the moving-in process during the summer vacation, they may apply for temporary moving-out, bring all personal belongings home, and return the room key to the Management Office. After returning to the dormitory, they can directly get the key to the new dorm room at the Management Office.

b.    New Dorm Residents: They should apply to the Student Housing Section between May 12 and 30, 2025, by presenting a valid deposit receipt, a student ID card, and a signed Lease Contract of Dormitory 2 in Academic Year 2025.

2.    Applicants can check their application status by visiting the Student Housing Section in person between June 9 and 13, 2025.

3.    Please note that the application results are not final. The Student Housing Section may make alternative changes if the intended dorm room is under repair or any current dorm resident of the intended dorm room has not moved out yet.

4.    To apply for dorm room changes, dorm residents are required to complete an application form and exchange the key to the original dorm room for that to the new one at the Management Office. Dorm residents should be held fully accountable for any damage to their rights caused by exchanging room keys without prior consent, including incorrect meter readings or wrong room keys. Before moving into the new dorm room, dorm residents shall clean the original dorm bed up and empty all personal belongings.
