Physical Education Courses and Competitions

  • For daytime students, beginning with the 98th academic year, Physical Education (PE) is a mandatory course in the second year with two classes per week, non-credit bearing. However, failing PE will prevent graduation (for students admitted before the 97th academic year, PE is required in both first and second years).
  • Students must complete two semesters of mandatory PE courses to graduate (students admitted in or before the 97th academic year must complete four semesters). Elective PE courses do not substitute mandatory courses.
  • PE courses are categorized by activity. Please register via the school’s information system. After online registration, confirm your course selection in the PE course registration section.
  • Transfer students who have passed equivalent PE courses may have their credits recognized in accordance with the school’s credit exemption policy.
  • Students cannot enroll in two mandatory PE courses in a single semester. Students who fail a mandatory PE course may retake it in any semester, but cannot repeat a course already passed.
  • Students with disabilities may apply for special PE classes during the registration period by providing an ID or a certificate from a public hospital to the PE office.
  • Students enrolled in tennis, table tennis, or badminton must bring their own rackets. Fees for tennis, golf, and billiards classes are the students' responsibility.
  • For the first class of the semester, students should meet at the designated sports venue.
  • Students taking PE classes must wear sportswear to class.
  • PE classes should begin on the first day of the semester as per the academic calendar, and not wait until after the add/drop period.
  • If a scheduling conflict occurs and a PE course add/drop is necessary, students should follow the school’s course registration guidelines.
  • In the event of rain or poor weather, classes will be moved indoors.
